In 2009, I co-founded About my Brain Institute with Silvia Damiano, an internationally recognised leadership expert, scientist and author. We established the Institute to translate neuroscience and human behaviour into practical approaches to leadership development, making complex research accessible and applicable within organisations and community.

Since then, the Institute has grown into a global leadership development organisation supporting 100,000+ leaders across 50+ countries through assessments, leadership programs, organisational development and International Coaching Federation (ICF) accredited certifications.

Silvia has led the scientific development of our methodology, while I have shaped the Institute’s creative, product and experience direction, translating that research into products and experiences people can use in practice. Central to this has been the i4 Neuroleader™ Methodology and 360° Assessment, which connects neuroscience and leadership development across Performance, Collaboration, Innovation and Agility. 

I led its product and experience development across the assessment and reporting system, digital platform, learning resources and certification experience, while building and leading the creative, product and technology teams responsible for bringing the work to market. The methodology now supports a global network of 1,000+ certified practitioners.

Our work has also taken many other forms. We created the Brain Art Project, produced the i4 Tales Conference as part of Vivid Sydney, developed international leadership retreats and certifications, and produced the eight-time international award-winning documentary Make Me A Leader. We have also published a series of books exploring leadership and human behaviour, including Leadership Is Upside Down, Brain-Friendly Leadership and Brain-Friendly Leader: The Human Edge in the Age of AI.

Over the years, the Institute has worked with organisations including Microsoft, IBM, Visa, Telstra, NAB, Novartis, KPMG, Schneider Electric, Cochlear, HP, Bupa, the Australian Securities Exchange, NSW Government and ASB Bank, alongside universities, coaches and leadership professionals internationally.
