Relmi Damiano is the Creative Director of the About my Brain Institute, which she co-founded in Australia in 2009 alongside her mother, Silvia Damiano, a renowned leadership expert, author and scientist. Their shared vision has been to democratise leadership and neuroscience, transforming how we develop the human, the leader and the creative within us all.

Since its inception, Relmi has played a pivotal role in creative direction, global operations and product development, shaping the institute’s educational content, digital strategy and events. She has co-facilitated numerous programs and retreats, always with a focus on bridging the gap between science, leadership, creativity and human potential.

In 2010, Relmi and Silvia launched the first Brain Art Project, an international art and creative writing competition and exhibition that attracted over 1,000 participants from around the world. By exploring neuroscience, creativity, mental health and well-being, this initiative underscored the importance of a holistic, design-driven and interdisciplinary approach to brain science in everyday life.

Drawing on Relmi’s expertise in design, digital strategy, and storytelling, along with Silvia’s deep knowledge of leadership and cultural transformation, they co-created the i4 Neuroleader™ Methodology & Assessment in 2013. They also published Leadership Is Upside Down, a groundbreaking work that introduced the concept of Brain-Friendly Cultures. The book advocates for a leadership approach that is more conscious, ethical, compassionate, healthy, imaginative and intuitive, shifting the focus from traditional, hierarchical models to those that prioritise well-being and creativity.

Since its inception, the About my Brain Institute has certified thousands of practitioners and coaches globally in the i4 Neuroleader™ Methodology through their ICF CCE accredited programs. They have organised numerous events and retreats, as well as delivering brain-friendly programs in organisations worldwide. 

From 2015 to 2018, they hosted the i4 Tales Conference & Design Exhibition as part of the Vivid Lights Festival in Sydney, attracting over 250 participants each year to discuss these topics. In 2018, they self-funded and produced the award-winning documentary ‘Make Me A Leader,’ featuring global experts and scientists who shared how leaders can optimise brain and body performance to thrive in the 21st Century and the future of work.

In 2023, Relmi partnered with her brother Sacha Damiano, a psychosomatic therapist, trauma counsellor and coach to create the ‘Goddesses Of The World’ and ‘Spirit Animals’ Oracle Cards. This project was born from their shared commitments for self-discovery and personal growth, blending mythology, leadership and neuroscience into a unique tool for guidance. Drawing on their combined expertise in the development of leaders, trauma healing, intuitive guidance and emotional intelligence, Silvia, Relmi and Sacha crafted these cards as a means to empower individuals to play, explore their inner wisdom, gain new insights and embark on a transformative journey of self.

In 2025, they launched the Brain-Friendly Leadership Certification, a global program led by a team of Master Trainers personally trained by Silvia and Relmi Damiano. Accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), this Continuing Coach Education (CCE) program is delivered by experts based in New York, South Africa, London, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Hobart, Bangkok, and Mexico City. The program empowers professionals to train others in optimising performance, enhancing collaboration, driving innovation, and cultivating agility, all through the lens of cutting-edge neuroscience applied to leadership.

Silvia and Relmi also host an annual leadership and well-being retreat in Bali designed for leaders, entrepreneurs, coaches, consultants, educators and change-makers seeking to align their energy, reset their bodies, and redefine their future. The i4 Neuroleader™ Methodology Certification is an immersive experience that integrates science, creativity and holistic practices to help participants harmonise mind, brain, body and spirit, unlocking deeper inspiration, imagination and intuition.
