In 2009, I co-founded the About my Brain Institute alongside my mother, Silvia Damiano, an internationally recognised leadership expert, scientist and author. Together, we set out to bridge the gap between neuroscience and leadership, making scientific research practical, engaging and accessible for individuals and organisations around the world.

The Institute has grown into a global organisation supporting more than 100,000 leaders across over 50 countries through leadership development, organisational transformation, assessments and International Coaching Federation (ICF) accredited certification programs. 

Working together, Silvia has led the scientific development of our methodology while I have shaped its creative direction, translating research into products, learning experiences, digital platforms and a global brand that people can connect with and apply in practice.

One of our most significant achievements has been the development of the i4 Neuroleader™ Methodology and 360° Assessment, a practical framework that combines neuroscience with leadership development to help organisations strengthen performance, collaboration, innovation and agility. The methodology now underpins our global certification programs and has equipped thousands of coaches and practitioners worldwide.

Our work has extended far beyond certification programs. We’ve launched the Brain Art Project, hosted the i4 Tales Conference & Design Exhibition during Sydney’s Vivid Festival, produced the internationally award-winning documentary Make Me A Leader, developed conferences, retreats and digital learning experiences, and published a number of books exploring leadership, creativity and human potential.

Our most recent publication, Brain-Friendly Leader: The Human Edge in the Age of AI, explores how neuroscience can help people preserve the uniquely human qualities that will become increasingly valuable in an AI-driven world. Building on the ideas introduced in our books Leadership Is Upside Down: The i4 Neuroleader™ Revolution (2014) and Brain-Friendly Leadership: The 9 Habits of A Future Fit Mind (2020), our 2026 book examines creativity, imagination, ethical decision-making and human connection as essential capabilities for the future of leadership.

Today, the About my Brain Institute partners with organisations including Microsoft, IBM, VISA, Telstra, NAB, Novartis, KPMG, Schneider Electric, Cochlear, HP, BUPA, the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), the NSW Government and ASB Bank, continuing to develop leaders and organisations through science-based learning experiences delivered by an international network of Master Trainers.

Co-founding the Institute has shaped the way I approach every creative challenge. I’ve learned that the most meaningful work happens when complex ideas are transformed into experiences that people genuinely connect with, understand and remember.
