Heart 2 Heart Conversation Cards

The Heart 2 Heart Conversation Cards are a physical learning product designed to turn the i4 Neuroleader™ Model into an accessible, playful tool for conversation and reflection. Created for use with families, friends, colleagues and couples, the deck explores 16 areas of personal and leadership development, including curiosity, communication, courage, imagination, intuition, adaptability and wellbeing.
My Role
As designer, I translated the i4 Neuroleader™ Model from a leadership framework into a tangible, interactive product. I developed the overall design concept, visual system and user experience, considering how people would navigate the model, understand the relationship between its different elements and engage with the prompts through play and conversation.
Each card uses colour coding and iconography connected to the i4 Neuroleader™ Model and 360° Assessment, creating a consistent wayfinding system across the cards, assessment reports and broader learning materials. The prompts encourage reflection and discussion, while supporting articles extend the experience with additional insights, coaching questions and practical ways to develop each attribute.
Prototyping & User Testing
We piloted the cards during the 2024 Bali Leadership Retreat, giving me the opportunity to observe the product being used in a real learning environment. Participant feedback helped us refine the prompts, wayfinding, usability and overall experience before progressing the design further.
This iterative process was an important part of the product development: design, prototype, test, observe and refine rather than treating the cards simply as a finished piece of graphic design.
Production & Manufacturing
My role also extended into physical production. In October 2024, I travelled to our manufacturing facility in China to review the production process firsthand, working directly with the manufacturer across materials, print quality, construction and finishing.
The visit allowed me to assess how the design translated from screen to physical product, identify opportunities to improve quality and make design and production adjustments for the third production run.
The finished product brings together product design, visual communication, learning design and manufacturing, turning a complex leadership methodology into something people can hold, explore and use together.

I absolutely love these types of card decks and already have a few versions of We’re Not Really Strangers—but this one quickly became one of my favorites. The packaging is stunning, the prompts are incredibly well thought-out, and the elephant design is such a sweet and meaningful touch (especially for me, as someone who collects elephants!).
